Why Doing Cardiovascular Exercises Is Beneficial For Men

Posted on 30 March 2010 by Personal Fitness

Doing cardiovascular or aerobic exercises provides a lot of benefits for you. Physically, it improves your heart and lungs, for efficient circulation of blood and oxygen in your body. Your risk for developing diseases linked to being overweight is diminished, like diabetes, osteoarthritis, stroke and certain cancers. Also, it’s an effective way of getting rid of stress.

Doing aerobics spikes up your metabolism. You get to burn fats not only when working out, but also when at rest. For men who are trying to body build, this is best paired with regular weight training exercises. Layers of fats over developing muscles are eliminated, so they appear to be more defined.

Compared to pumping iron at the gym, cardiovascular exercises are not repetitive and boring. It’s because you got plenty of routines to choose from. What’s important is you maintain for at least 20 minutes an increased heartbeat rate. To help you out, you can wear a digital sport watch with a heart rate monitor feature. Remember to do it at least thrice a week for results.

To have one that’s custom-made for your needs, you may hire a fitness trainer to give you a cardio program. To help you stick to your schedule, put on a men’s sport watch. Religiously following your program will ensure you’re doing the right things. Usually, it’s based on determinants, like your lifestyle, fitness and health condition, age and others.

You should know that cardiovascular work outs can be categorized into weight-bearing and non weight-bearing. Weight-bearing cardio is doing routines while your body weight is supported by your legs. Some examples include jogging, jumping rope and step aerobics. Although high impact, your bones will be able to absorb calcium much better.

On the other hand, non-weight bearing work outs are those wherein your body is supported. They provide lesser impact on your joints, especially your ankles, knees, hips and back. Some examples are: biking, swimming and rowing.

But no matter which of the two you intend to focus on, it pays to be safe. That’s why it’s a good move to have protective wear where it’s necessary. Some cardio exercises, especially those where equipment or machines are used, require some protective wear. Examples are: shoulder and knee pads, eye goggles, helmet, gloves, etc.

On that note, see to it that you’re wearing the right protective equipment for the right work out. For instance, the protection a biking helmet provides is different than that of a giro ski helmet. Also, invest in quality protective equipment, so as not to put yourself at risk of injuries. Part of doing cardiovascular work outs is doing them properly and safely.

Creating Your Perfect Workout Program

Posted on 30 March 2010 by Personal Fitness

Once you’ve made the decision to lose weight and get in shape, the next step is figuring out the workout workout that will work best for you. Many people choose to purchase some kind of a gym membership when it comes to exercise, but this is not necessarily the optimal choice for you.

If you are someone that has a lot of lbs to lose you may be intimidated by the idea of going to a gym where everyone appears to be in shape. By the way, no one really cares what you look like for the most part, so do not shy away from the gym for this reason if you can help it. The ideal choice for where you are at could be to workout at home in an environment that you are comfortable with and have more control over.

Now let’s cover some possible exercise routines that may be best for you.

A perfect place to begin when working to create a plan for fitness, would be to look at all the possible DVD routines that are available today. Whether you are ready for a beginner or advanced workout, you are sure to find one that fits your fitness level and learning style preferences. You can even find workouts that target certain areas such as your glutes, abs, arms or legs. It is easy to find specific DVD workouts that you can piece together to create the program that is best for you.

For example, one wonderful product on the market right now is the P90X Peak Results Package that you see on TV all the time today. This would be a great workout routine if you are ready to make a 90 day commitment to see relatively fast results. This is a very high intensity workout by Beachbody that is led by personal trainer Tony Horton. The program utilizes an advanced technique called muscle confusion and many people swear by the results.

Wonderful home workouts for cardio might include walking or riding a bicycle if you reside where you have warm weather year round. If you do experience a winter season where it is harder to get outside to do your cardio, you might think about purchasing some equipment such as a good treadmill, an elliptical machine or a stationary bicycle just to name a few suggestions.

So many people are extremely busy today, so the 8-10 minute DVD routines may just fix your dilemma of finding enough time in your day for exercise. Personally, I prefer the older 8 minute abs and legs DVD’s and do my abs workout 5 days a week partly because it is so fast and simple to do. If you want to pack a great punch into a short cardio/strength training routine, you should definitely check out the 30 Day Shred workout by famous trainer, Jillian Michaels.

Regardless of whether you are equipping your home gym with a elliptical machine, ready for the challenge of the serious P90X or content to ease into fitness on 8-10 minutes a day, the important thing is that you get started now. Choose something that you can honestly commit to and that fits your life. You will be able to build on those beginning successes until fitness becomes a natural part of your day and healthy lifestyle.

Lose Fat with These Exercises

Posted on 30 March 2010 by Personal Fitness

Would you like to learn about some workout routines to lose weight easily?  It’s no secret that high intensity workouts are what gets results.  Cardio exercises such as running might help reduce fat, but if you are not careful, you can even burn muscle doing these (remember those skinny cross country runners from high school?).  Due to the fact that muscle tissues can help you to burn fats, we want to keep them around even when you are not wanting to get buff.  high intensity sprints on the other hand are good exercises to get in shape easily without burning up lean muscle.

Therefore, for the high intensity exercise session, we will be doing basic Cardio workouts.  But, we are going to be moving in between really high intensities and reduced intensities.  If you are just starting out, you will probably find this to be pretty strenuous, So it might be better to start out not as hard after which you can work it up as your stamina improves.  You can actually repeat this with bicycling, stair machines, or other exercises, But doing this with sprinting is one of the most beneficial workout routine to slim down quickly.

To do this, we’re going to firstly warm-up and stretch.  This is a very essential thing to do to be sure you don’t injure yourself.

After that we get started on a jog-sprint-jog routine.  jog for one minute, And then bust straight to a full-out sprint for one minute, followed by returning to jogging.  Keep on alternating from one to the next for around twenty or thirty minutes.  If this is too tough for you, begin with 2 minute jogs with one minute sprints, But set a goal to build up to 1 minute jogs and one minute sprints.  Once you get comfortable with this, you can test yourself more by doing more of these up hills, getting started with easy slopes and improving up to more challenging ones.  Repeat this about four to five times each week and you’ll begin to notice some very remarkable results.

Remember, that while you are doing the intense component of the workout that it literally does need to be intense!  Doing otherwise, will just give you an ordinary cardio exercise routine that will not provide you with the results you expect.  You should push yourself to your limit and be completely worn out.

You may vary your workout to prevent yourself from growing too bored stiff during your high intensity workout routines.  Try out doing multiple workouts or doing your sprinting at a different spot.  You might sprint around the place you live, try out the gym, or perhaps a close park.

On off-days, make sure to get to the gym.  Do a few strength training workouts to build a little muscles and tone your body a bit.

This can be a smart way to burn off excess fat and drop those pounds.  Best of all, you will be building your endurance and stamina levels simultaneously too.  high intensity exercises are excellent exercises to shed extra pounds easily and they tend to be more interesting and more productive than typical cardio workout routines.

You should make sure to talk with a medical expert before you try this by yourself though, because the high intensity exercises can be very taxing on your body, to begin with.

Stick to it, though and you’ll enjoy a thinner body and the energy and stamina you need to feel amazing each day!

A Gym Isn’t Essential For Your Workouts

Posted on 25 March 2010 by Personal Fitness

You know that exercise is good for you. It increases your energy level, and improves the appearance of your skin and hair. Lots of people begin exercising to lose weight, but even if you don’t want or need to lose weight, you still need exercise. In addition to being good for your body, it releases chemicals that lift your mood. If you experience depression, exercise can be a wonderful tool to lift your mood.

Since it is common knowledge that exercise is necessary and good for you, you would think that everyone would make a point to do it. However, this is not the case. Lots of people remain sedentary for much of their free time, watching television or working on their computer with custom lcd. They spend lots of money on these gadgets, but claim that they cannot afford to join a health club. This really is no excuse for not working out; gyms and personal trainers are nice luxuries, but you can work out on your own.

If there is a park with running trails or a track nearby where you live, that is a great place to begin exercising. However, you can also just jog on your neighborhood sidewalks. If you live near a high school, they may have a track you can use.

If you are just getting started, you may not be able to jog or run right away. This is okay. You can begin simply by walking. Any exercise that extends beyond what your body is used to will produce results in the beginning.

If you enjoy listening to music while you work out, bring your iPod or CD player. Also, bring a digital sport watch with you, and time yourself. Make sure that you work out for at least 30 minutes. Start out with a warm up to get your body going. You can walk at a slower pace for the first three minutes or so. Then, when your body gets comfortable, pick up the pace and walk faster, or run if you are able to. You will feel your energy level begin to rise, and you will start to get a rush as your body releases endorphins. You may not be able to keep your fastest pace going the entire time, but you can switch back and forth between slower and faster speeds.

Slow down to your warm up pace again about five minutes before you end your workout. Make sure you don’t stop too abruptly. This could shock your body. It needs a bit of time to come down from the speed of the workout.

Exercise is necessary for all of us. It helps you feel better and live longer. While joining a gym can make it more convenient, it is not necessary. You can save the money and still get the exercise. Good luck!
